[ARCHIVED] Re-opening Details for Village Hall and Municipal Services Building

Update

VILLAGE HALL AND MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUILDING (MSB) RE-OPENING PLANS

  • Beginning on Wednesday May 27th, Village Hall and the MSB will re-open for in person village business, with capacity restrictions and other precautionary measures.
  • Village Hall: Staff is waiting on a shipment of plexiglass and successful installation at the front counter in the Village Hall lobby. In the meantime, we will utilize the customer service window in the vestibule as was done during the Spring election. One customer can be served at a time in the vestibule. We will post an update on our website and Facebook page when the plexiglass installation is complete and the lobby is re-opened.
  • MSB: The Police Department already had a protective barrier at their customer service counter. The Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments now has a plexiglass barrier and are ready for customers. At this time the MSB will have a capacity of four customers at a time in the lobby.
  • Additional precautionary measures:
  • Lobby floors will be marked with acceptable distancing between them for the public to know where it is appropriate to stand while waiting.
  • Objects that are frequently touched (door handles, counters, etc) will be cleaned with industrial strength disinfectant wipes daily. The wipes provide approximately 24 hours of protection on those surfaces.
  • Each building’s lobby and meeting space will be sprayed with a disinfectant mist, which is said to provide 20+ days of protection. This process will be repeated as necessary.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available.
  • Face coverings are recommended.
  • Exchanges of money or paperwork should not be handed off, but rather placed down on the counter and then picked up by staff (and vice versa).
  • Cloth chairs in the lobby will be replaced with hard surface chairs, for cleaning purposes. Chairs will be spaced six feet apart.
  • All other potential “touch points”, such as flyers, business cards, etc. will be removed indefinitely.
