Chief Mark W. Garry II was appointed as the Chief of Police for the Cottage Grove Police Department on December 5, 2022.  Previously, Chief Garry had been appointed to the Pewaukee Police Department in 1990 and has served over 33 years in law enforcement.  As an officer and supervisor with the Pewaukee Police Department, Chief Garry served with the Suburban Critical Incident Team (Assistant Team Leader), Waukesha Metro Drug Unit, and an agency firearms instructor.  Chief Garry also served as the WILEAG accreditation manager, in-house Village IT coordinator, Emergency Management Director, and the agency representative for the Southeastern Wisconsin Incident Management Team.  Chief Garry is a recent graduate of the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) New Police Chief Training, having attended in 2022.  Chief Garry holds a Masters of Organizational and Criminal Justice Leadership degree from Marian University.  Chief Garry has graduated from Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command (session 355), FBI LEEDA’s Executive and Command courses attaining their distinguished Trilogy Award and the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations and is a certified EMT.  He honorably served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard. Chief Garry continues to promote community engagement within the department and is committed to building relationships within the community.  “Working together we achieve success.”
