Discuss and consider minutes from the December 21, 2022 meeting.


New Business

  1. Discuss the previous resignation of Tracy Phillippi from 12/29/22 and subsequent appointment of Meaghan Swanson to the Library Board on 01/3/23.
  2. Discuss and consider the hiring of Tracy Phillippi as the “Library Programming and Outreach Specialist” per Agreement for Services.
  3. Discuss and consider the FAQ document.
  4. Discuss and consider approval of the “Timeline”.
  5. Discuss and consider approval of the Library Board Logo.
  6. Discuss and consider appointing Stefan Wahe, David Peterson, Cindi Kelm-Nelson to Policy Committee.
  7. Discuss and consider programming, volunteer, and donation policies. 
  8. Collaboration Update: ischool, UWW
  9. Update on FGM study progress.
  10. Update ALA membership status.

Programming Report:

  1. Discuss and consider vision/mission for library programming. 
  2. Discuss and consider draft of Village Guide information.
  3. Discuss and consider the preliminary programming calendar and outreach strategy. 
  4. Discuss and consider MOU from McFarland to provide Storytime and Zumbini services to the Village.
  5. Discuss and consider approval of grant proposal(s) for submission by their deadlines.
  6. Update on community programming opportunities.

a. Discuss and consider recommendation from Finance & Budget Review Committee to approve the preliminary programming costs and planning.

Future Events: 

StoryTime - Join McFarland Public Library's Ms. Heather for an hour of stories, songs, rhymes and movement.  Shorter books are selected for younger children but all ages are welcome to join. Storytime will take place the first Friday of the month beginning on 2/3 at Monona Bank in Cottage Grove. 9:30 am - 10:30 am. No registration is required. 


Zumbini - This program is designed to foster learning and bonding through music and movement for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Zumbini will take place the third Friday of the month beginning on 2/17 at Monona Bank in Cottage Grove. 9:30 am - 10:30 am. No registration is required. 

Welcoming Schools National Day of Reading - Cottage Grove will join with communities across the country to celebrate transgender and non-binary youth through inclusive stories and crafts. 
National Day of Reading will take place in the Taylor Prairie School cafeteria on 2/16. 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. All are welcome, No registration is required.
