Welcome Message

Welcome to the Village of Cottage Grove! Before expanding on the great things the Village has to offer, I must first acknowledge the many ways our community continues to come together: Earth Day celebration, Firemen’s Festival and parade, Hot2Trot run, the splash pad at Bakken, Miracle League baseball games, Music in the Grove, Farmer’s Market, Marketplace Days, Community Garage Sale, Bike the Grove, and Christmas in the Grove. Each of these experiences showcases the unique ways our community remains connected. These events and daily neighbor-to-neighbor moments are the fabric that binds us together and makes Cottage Grove a special place.

It is our mission that: “Cottage Grove will be a safe, friendly and attractive community for businesses, neighbors and families to live, learn, work, play and enjoy the richness and opportunities of a growing Village.” Within this website, you will find information about economic development, public works and safety, sustainability, utilities, parks and recreation, camps and enrichment, and a bit about our community organizations.

We were able to build momentum on growing our Village through the addition of Atlantis Valley Foods, Grace Coffee, Grand Appliance, Dolphin Swim Academy, and JRE-CRE (Dunkin’). Additional growth is expected as we expand housing options (i.e., Authentix apartments, Shady Grove development, and additional phases of Cottage Grove Commons, Quarry Ridge, and Westlawn), as well as enhance our recreation options (i.e. construction of Bakken Park Skate and Bike Track, Pickleball courts, new playground equipment, and bike/pedestrian path in Community Park, phase 2 of Red Hawk Park, expansion of bike/pedestrian path on Main and Oak Streets). Additionally, we continue our commitment to sustainability by installing a solar panel array on the Municipal Services Building. All these accomplishments truly support or mission and make me proud to part of this community!

The opportunities outlined on our website and in our publications such as the Community Guide, bring awareness to our residents, and businesses, and encourage visitors to seek out Cottage Grove. For the latest updates, check us out on social media, including the Facebook pages for the Village, Police, and Parks and Recreation; Twitter for the latest tweets from Parks and Recreation; and Village YouTube for live-streaming of our Village meetings.

If you have other ideas on how to support our Village, please contact me - I welcome the opportunity to have the conversation.

Cottage Grove - Enjoy the richness and opportunities of a growing Village!
