Plan Commission

The Plan Commission is responsible for planning and environmental matters within and around the Village of Cottage Grove. The Commission shall make and adopt a Comprehensive Master Plan, subject to Village Board approval, outlining the physical development of the Village and areas outside the Village which the Commission deems relevant to the development of the Village. 

Members


The Commission shall consist of the Village President, one Village Board member and five citizen members, all of whom may vote. The Village Board member shall be appointed by the Village President subject to confirmation of the Village Board for a three-year term. The term of office shall commence on May 1 or until his/her successor is appointed and confirmed by the Board.

The five citizen members shall be appointed by the Village President subject to confirmation by the Village Board during April for a three-year term beginning May 1 or until their successors are appointed and confirmed by the Board. Two of the citizen members shall be appointed on May 1 during the year the Village President is elected while the remaining two members shall be appointed the following year. 

The Village Engineer and Building Inspector shall be ex officio nonvoting members of the Commission.

The Plan Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.
