The Board of Review is held annually to allow property owners to contest the assessed value of their property. Under Wisconsin State Statute § 70.47(1), the first meeting of the Board of Review must be held during the 30 days beginning on the second Monday of May. Some years, however, the assessment roll is not complete at his time, and the Board of Review is adjourned to a later date when the registration is complete. You must have an appointment to appear at the Board of Review. Notice of the date and time of the Board of Review will be published in the Herald-Independent and posted in the four locations in the Village.
The Board of Review consists of two board members and three citizen members. Board members are appointed to one-year terms, while citizen members are appointed to two-year terms. All members are set by the Village President and confirmed by the Village Board.
