As of January 1, 2025, e-waste (computers, televisions, etc.) is no longer collected at the curb by the Village's contracted trash and recycling service provider. The Village will be hosting E-Waste recycling events periodically to assist residents in safely disposing of their electronics.
E-Waste Recycling Event - April 18, 2026
The Village of Cottage Grove will host an E-Waste Recycling Event with Pellitteri Waste Systems on April 18 from 8 a.m. to Noon at 225 Bonnie Road (former Public Works Building). This is the only E-Waste Recycling Event planned for 2026.

- Calculator/Adding Machine
- Camera (including digital and video)
- Cellular Phone and PDAs
- Computer (mouse, monitor, tower, keyboard, modems, cables, server, etc.)
- Copy Machine and Fax Machine
- Electronic toys
- Kitchen Electronics (blender, coffee maker, toaster oven, etc.)
- Laptops
- Microwave
- Printer
- Radio/Clock Radio
- Stereo/Audio Equipment inc. Speakers
- Televisions and Remote Controls
- Telephone System
- Vacuum (no battery-operated models)
- VCR and DVD player
- Video Game Console
Not Accepted Items:
- Air Conditioner
- Dehumidifier
- Light Bulbs & Light Fixtures
- Refrigerator/Freezer
- Smoke or Carbon Monoxide
- Alarm or Detector
- Thermometer
Safety Notice: Batteries
Please remove all batteries from items and dispose of them separately as they can start fires. Rechargeable, lithium-ion batteries must be taken to a drop-off site. Check with Dane County Clean Sweep, a battery store, or visit call2recycle.org.
E-Waste Recycling Event - April 26, 2025
The Village of Cottage Grove hosted an E-Waste Recycling Event with Pellitteri Waste Systems on April 26 from 8 a.m. to Noon at 225 Bonnie Road (former Public Works Building).
The Village filled almost two semis of e-waste items. A detailed breakdown of the items is below.
- E-waste with TV/Monitors: 1.99 tons (3,980-lbs)
- E-waste without TV/Monitors: 2.17 tons (4,340-lbs)
- E-waste Fax/DVD/VCR/Printers/Stereos: 1.46 tons (2,920-lbs)
- E-waste Insulated wire: 0.22 tons (440-lbs)
